Black Pride Lion + prints [Art Post]

Rise, like lions after slumber

In unvanquishable number!

Shake your chains to earth like dew

Which in sleep had fallen on you:

Ye are manyโ€”they are few

Percy Bysshe Shelley, The Masque of Anarchy

I wanted to do something for Pride. I wanted to do something for Black Lives Matter. So here is a dark rainbowโ€”a black lion for Black Pride. I auctioned the original for charity on Twitter, resulting in a donation to GLAD and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, which felt good. I now have prints available through my online store, a portion of the sales from which will go to the ACLU.

Prints are in stock and available here!

I am also selling metallic prints of my Lady in Black California Condor, with a portion of the sales donated to the National Aviary, which is doing critical conservation and research for endangered birds and their habitats. The Aviary has a special place in my heart as it is one of the highlights of my (usually) annual trip to Pittsburgh for AnthroConโ€ฆ which is not happening this year. Like many places the pandemic has made life difficult for them, and I want to give back as best I can.

Be well everyone!
