Hi everyone—and I do mean everyone, since this is a public post. Hello! I’m at the 52nd World Fantasy Convention in Oakland, CA and can’t make my regular Friday CSA post. It was to be an update from the Sparks Gallery, but all my scans are on my computer back in Bend and I’ve only got my iPad here with me in the hotel. I’ve also got Dafydd, my faithful con companion, keeping his beady eye on me while I “work” making doodles in—you guessed it—the Sparks Gallery. Suffice to say there will be a nice juicy update for you next Friday. But for now all I can share with you is the view from my hotel window of downtown Oakland in a moment of pre-day calm.
It’s been neat to sit here for the last hour or so, watching the city slowly come to life. It started with no people and no cars, but now the buses have begun to run and opening shift is arriving to work. Along with them comes the noise. It has really driven home how many city noises are actually just car noises.
My hope is to be back on Sunday with a regular Valdelluna update, since I do have pictures of that on my iPad to share, but we’ll see how the weekend goes.
